Hour is a very powerful mapping format to apply to time values.
It returns the hour of the day as 0, 1, 2 etc.
** Tip - Use this mapping format with the related Day of Week to analyse date and time based databases for significant patterns.
Note that the chart on the right shows all hours even if they don't have any records mapped to them.
Typical uses include :-
- Transaction databases to see if processing is being performed on days and at times when they are not expected.
Does this mean fraud or attempts at it?
- Traffic databases for such things as phone, fax and World Wide Web.
Do your switches and servers have sufficient capacity?
- Product Quality showing failures, complaints and guarantee returns.
Is the Friday car still with us?
Does Monday morning production have a lot of returned product?
See Hour in the Help for more details.
