Day of Week is a very powerful mapping format to apply to date values.

It returns the day of the week as Sun, Mon, Tue etc.

** Tip - Use this mapping format with the related Hour to analyse date and time based databases for significant patterns.

Typical uses include :-

• Transaction databases to see if processing is being performed on days and at times when they are not expected.

  Does this mean fraud or attempts at it?

• Traffic databases for such things as phone, fax and World Wide Web.

  Do your switches and servers have sufficient capacity?

• Product Quality showing failures, complaints and guarantee returns.

  Is the Friday car still with us?

  Does Monday morning production have a lot of returned product?
