Lulu is a book publishing site.

You take your electronic document, upload it to the site, say how it is to be printed and then if anybody wants a copy, they just print it and pay for it. It is then delivered through the post.

This method has lots of advantages and I can't see a disadvantage :-

• You can have a saleable book on Lulu and still make changes as the feedback comes in.
• You have a worldwide audience.
• Personal copies can be produced cheaply and with no fuss. They are royalty-free.
• You can produce the book is several different formats.

Lulu or other similar sites will do for publishing what Amazon has done for selling.
