Daisy is also available as a family of OCXs or components that can be built into another program.
A typical application would be to put a 'data-mining' window into a program, so that results or data can be mined for any links and correolations.
See the Daisy Web Tools, which use the Daisy NoHelp OCX to add such a window.
The components follows all of the usual rules, with events, methods and properties.
They also come with several examples coded in Visual Basic.
Currently, two components are available :-
- Daisy OCX - The 'Full' component that has most of the features of Daisy 2003.
This component would tend to be used for applications where you wanted to apply Daisy to say a specialist database and also give the user complete control.
- Daisy NoHelp OCX - A reduced feature 'NoHelp' version of the component without Help, that is simpler to use and install.
This would be used for applications where a Daisy chart was to be created by the application with the minimum of user interaction.
- Internal OCX - There is also a third component that is used by Daisy Analysis to write their versions of Daisy.
See choosing an OCX, programming and the Daisy OCX FAQ for more details on the differences and how they are used and installed.
