Mapping is the process of translating the database into an Active Pie Chart, by grouping fields with the same characteristics into slices.

Consider the example, where a field, Fault, is mapped with a mapping type of Text and a similar mapping format. For each different value of the field, a new slice will be created in the chart.

Choose a field to map from the pull-down list and a then choose a format.

Note how the last chosen field is analysed in the Preview window at the bottom right and how each mapping format is explained in the window.

Then after adding some aggregation fields, choose the slice value field, which determines the size of each slice, from the list.
