Missing

How missing values are treated is important in Daisy.

Enter a missing value if you don't want the field to be ignored and not mapped. By default this value is blank.

Also select where you want the created node to be placed in the Daisy Chart :-

• First places the node in the first position in the group.

• Last does the reverse.

• In Natural Order places the node where the entered value should be placed.

  Thus, 'Null', would be placed between 'Newcastle' and 'Penzance'!

Note that the missing value is the last factor applied to the value to be mapped.

So if the mapping format should create a blank value, then make sure that the missing value is set correctly. Normally, the default of blank is acceptable.

** Warning - Formats such as 'After Characters' can easily create blank values!
