Mapping Format

The mapping format is applied to each mapping field to change the data into the form required for mapping.

Consider as an example the mapping format, Month-Year, which acts on dates. This would transform November 12, 1999 to Nov-99.

Daisy contains many different formats for mapping text, dates, times and numerics. Special forms allow the mapping of phone numbers, post codes and EMail addresses.

** New - There is also a large number of tests, which test a value and return either 'True' or 'False'.

Note that some mapping formats, need some of the mapping options to be set.

The tests are also listed together as well as under the associated type.

The choice of mapping format although it appears daunting at first, is actually a fairly simple process provided a few rules are followed.

Also, view one of the Daisy Examples, such as 'Telephone Calls', which gives a good demonstration of mapping.
