The Daisy Chart is a graphical representation of all the winners by prize money at Newmarket horse races in 1992. (The data is courtesy of Newmarket Racecourses Trust.)

The data has been analysed into three sets of nodes, each of which is shown as an arc of the circular Daisy Chart. These are Jockeys, Trainers and Owners. Each group of nodes is shown in decreasing order of the Prize Money, with only the first twelve nodes being shown.

Two histograms are shown on each node; the green shows the Number of Winners and the cyan the Total Prize Money Won.

The lines or links between the nodes show the relative strengths of the connections between nodes. The darker the link, the greater Number of Winners involving the two nodes.

Note the dark triangle including Lester Piggott, Peter Chapple-Hyam and Robert Sangster, who may not have had the best year in terms of winners. But they did win a very large proportion of the important and valuable races.
