Aggregation
Aggregation is the process, where values from the records in the database, that correspond to a particular node, are totalled, averaged or processed. They are then stored along with other details of that node.
A typical aggregation might calculate the total of a particular field in the records associated with each node.
To setup or modify an aggregation field, choose the aggregation type from the list box in the Aggregation Fields dialog. When creating with the Add dialog, note that a brief description of the aggregation type is shown automatically.
The aggregation field is completed by an aggregation name and one or more data fields. These are set in order, sometimes with the aid of the '...' button.
Note that Daisy will create a default aggregation name for the calculation. If Time Range were selected in 3, then the default name would be Range3. This name can of course be changed to something more suitable.
View one of the examples, such as 'Newmarket Winners', which gives a good demonstration of aggregation.
