Applications - Internet/Intranet

Daisy is a powerful tool for analysing and profiling the traffic on an Internet or Intranet web site. From Daisy 2000, the program can read most Web Site Log files directly.

Most web sites can make a simple file, called a log file, (but often very large!) available to the owner, that shows each and every access to the site, showing which files were downloaded at what date and time. Depending on the format of this file, all sorts of extra information may be provided, such as the result and size of the transfer and who initiated the request.

The format of these files is laid down at www.w3.org.

Daisy can be used to relate this information together to answer questions about your web site, the people who view it, what they are interested in and also about the relative performance of Internet Service Providers and Search Engines.

An example from a real Internet web site is described in detail. This is delivered with the program, so you can see how it works.

In Daisy 2003, Daisy and other charts can be generated as HTML Charts which are ready for uploading to the Internet.
