Web Site Log File, Format

The format of Web Site Log files is laid down at www.w3.org.

Basically, there are three main formats :-

• Common - This contains just the basic information of the transaction performed by the user on the web site.

• Augmented - This is similar to the 'Common' format with the addition of Referrer and browser information.

• Extended - This is the full format and allows a #Fields: directive which contains details of what is contained.
