Applications - Cost Control

Cost Control is a nightmare in many businesses, organisations or even at home.

Take a simple database of all the costs, which might contain fields, such as value, date, what for?, who for?, supplier etc.

By choosing suitable mapping and aggregation, Daisy can show :-

  1. If different parts of the organisation, have significantly different spending patterns. The Daisy Chart will be different if they are!

  2. If certain individuals spend more or less than others and more importantly, why! Related to say sales performance, this can be invaluable.

  3. By watching factors on a weekly or monthly basis, an appropriate chart will give significant warning of trends in costs.

  4. By aggregating the database and producing totals, averages, maxima and minima at each node, you can find exactly where all of that waste is disappearing.

These are just four simple examples.

Build a simple cost control database, perhaps in Microsoft Excel and then map and aggregate the database in different ways, to find out not only your problems, but your strengths!
