Celia Miller - David Wilson

From David Wilson - 12th December, 2007

Firstly, I hope you will forgive me writing to you so informally as we have never met.

I would like to say how terribly sorry I was to hear the news. I knew that Celia was ill and knew that the prognosis was not good, but had no idea that the end would come so quickly.

I first met Celia approximately 9 years ago when I was a very, wet behind the ears, newly qualified solicitor. I was struck by, and somewhat in awe of, her ability as a lawyer and that never really left me. I had the pleasure and good fortune to instruct her and was occasionally against her (less of a pleasure). While it was always good to see her at court, if we were on opposing sides, then that pleasure was always tempered by a nervousness that came from knowing that she was a formidable lawyer.

I cannot claim to have known Celia well, and I didn't send a card for that reason, but I very much wish that I had.

I offer you and your family my sincere condolences.
